There's a construction site next to one apron that is completely flat, featuring only a perimeter fence running over a flat truck. So parts of the airport feel very much rushed. Unfortunately, none of these areas are shown on the product page. You'll see low res aerial imagery right next to all secondary aprons, most of them showing flat cars and objects, clearly visible from nearby aircraft parking spots. Well done on that.Ītely, the rest of the airport is far from this level of quality. Pricey for an airport of this size, this scenery features a well modelled main terminal and surrounding area. Today the main operators are Aurigny and Flybe. This allowed larger aircraft like the EMB190, B737 and A320 aircraft to the use the airport. During 2012 the airport close for over 40days to allow construction of a runway extension. Guernsey was a main base for Aurigny and for over 30 years the little yellow islanders and Trislanders aircraft were used on the inter island link. A new 4800ft tarmac runway was constructed and traffic increased with regular services to London and Southampton using Viscount and Herald aircraft. By 1948 BEA and Jersey airlines were flying regular trips to Southampton. Its first use was by the German Luftwaffe during there invasion of the Channel Islands. The was opened in 1939 as a grass airfield with 4 rough grass runways.
